- Secure endotracheal tube using tape or ties; mark at the level of teeth and record level
- Use bite block to prevent airway obstruction due to biting on the tube
- Stabilize the patient on the transport ventilator using pulse oximetry, expired CO2, and/or arterial blood gas
- Provide sedation and analgesia (+/- muscle relaxant) during the transport for patient comfort and immobility
