On completing this module, the provider should be able to:
- Understand the basic pathophysiology of hypovolemic shock
- Assess a pediatric trauma victim for signs of circulatory shock
- Know the conditions that may cause rapid cardiopulmonary deterioration in pediatric trauma patients
- Understand the choice of sites for intravascular or intaosseous access
- Monitor the patient for adequacy of intravascular resuscitation
