Hemothorax

Hemothorax is the accumulation of blood in the pleural cavity, and presents with the following clinical features:

Respiratory distress or failure

Decreased or absent breath sounds on the affected side

Dullness to percussion over the affected side

Chest x-ray with haziness (from blood accumulation) and collapsed lung

Shock (low BP, tachycardia, cool skin)
