Hemothorax is the accumulation of blood in the pleural cavity, and presents with the following clinical features:
•Respiratory distress or failure
•Decreased or absent breath sounds on the affected side
•Dullness to percussion over the affected side
•Chest x-ray with haziness (from blood accumulation) and collapsed lung
•Shock (low BP, tachycardia, cool skin)
