Tension pneumothorax

Clinical features of tension pneumothorax include:

•Respiratory distress or failure

•Absent breath sounds on the affected side

•Hyper-resonance to percussion

•Trachea deviated to the opposite side

•Shock: low BP, tachycardia, cool skin

•Cardiopulmonary arrest or Pulseless Electrical Activity (PEA)
